カブレッタレザーとは

What is cabretta leather?

Simply put, it's sheepskin.

This is the leather of the hair sheep that mainly lives in South America. Although it is called a hair sheep, the hair of a hair sheep cannot be made into the wool used to make sweaters. They are a different breed from the sheep you often see. Hair sheep leather has soft, smooth, and thin characteristics that are most suitable for golf gloves. For this reason, it has long been used as the highest quality material for golf gloves.

The origin of Cabretta is Cabra, which means goat in Spanish and Portuguese. It seems that easy-going people in the USA have started calling Hare sheep leather Cabretta. I guess it didn't make much of a difference whether it was a sheep or a goat lol. Since then, the name Cabretta Leather Golf Glove has become common worldwide. If you translate this into Japanese, it means natural genuine leather golf gloves. Since we are from the USA, we call it Cabretta Leather.

I don't know much about livestock farming, so if anyone has more detailed information, I'd appreciate it if you could give me some advice.
